Abstract

The significance of Selman Reis, Piri Reis, Hayreddin Barbarossa, Seydi Ali Reis, and the anonymous author of the Tarih-i Hind-i Garbi in the field of seafaring and naval warfare, exploration, discovery, and their literary as well as cartographic achievements are discussed.
